Here you are, 2020, we welcome you with open arms and lots of hopes and dreams! For many of us, starting the new year is equal to start a new chapter in our life. We are motivated, inspired, and curious of what’s ahead of us.
In most cultures, we welcome the new year in form of a ritual. We celebrate the New Year Eve with friends, families and traditions. This time of the year reminded me of the importance of rituals. This is why today I would like to share with you another chapter of my book “The Magic About Pain”.
Chapter 10: The power of rituals
A ritual is an enactment of a myth. And, by participating in the ritual, you are participating in the myth. And since myth is a projection of the depth wisdom of the psyche, by participating in a ritual, participating in the myth, you are being, as it were, put in accord with that wisdom, which is the wisdom that is inherent within you anyhow. Your consciousness is being, reminded of the wisdom of your own life. I think ritual is terribly important.
My husband and I did a beautiful ritual before our marriage. We found a quiet spot on a lake and sat on stones. We were the only ones there, and we shared what we let go and didn’t want to take into our marriage and what we invited and would bring into our marriage. It was very powerful to witness my husband sharing his intimate thoughts and emotions, and it was vulnerable for me to open my heart and share my thoughts and feelings.
Rituals are powerful tools that support us to invite and manifest new raw materials, thoughts, dreams, and visions and let go of old material. Rituals sharpen our consciousness regarding a certain theme, and they help us heal and intentionally integrate what’s happening around us. There are different rituals for different events. For instance, it is impactful in times of healing from pain, career or relationship transitions, or moving to a new city or country. It is wonderful to use rituals to strengthen the bonding in a love relationship or for important projects. It can be used to confirm an ending of a relationship or a certain time of life. There are rituals to transform burdensome emotions and pain that stick with us and determine or control us. There are many opportunities to experience the magic and power from a ritual. […]
The ritual of a New Beginning
The year 2020 is something new in the beginning. Close the circle of the past and welcome the new, and if you like, do so in form of a ritual and open your mind, heart, and soul.
