Embrace the Change: A Gentle Ayurvedic Fall Cleanse Invitation

Welcome to September!

It is transitioning time out of Summer into the Fall season. Often i transitioning times we forget or forgo our beautiful habits and routines that serve us. As the seasons transition and the warmth of summer gives way to cooler days, it's the perfect time to pause and reflect on our health and well-being. We are called to prepare our body, and mind for the shift of the natural change of seasons. A gentle Ayurvedic cleanse can support us along the way!

I must say, despite the intense heat, I found moments to cherish during these sunny months. Summer used to be my least favorite season, but Ayurveda has shown me how to embrace it fully.

Summer Adventures:

Our summer took us to the Caribbean, where we enjoyed quality time with family and friends. In addition to that, we embarked on joyful hiking adventures and indulged in various small activities. However, one of the true highlights was our garden with vibrant, blooming plants, fresh vegetables, and ripe fruits.

A Gentle Reminder

Today, I'm extending an invitation to you. It's a gentle reminder about the transformative potential of incorporating a Gentle Ayurvedic Cleanse into your upcoming fall season.

Nature's Transition

Every year around this time, there are moments where we sense a change in nature, the environment, and the world around us - a hint of more windy days, cooler air, different sunlight. These hints awaken our senses and tell us it is transitioning time out of Summer into the Fall season. We are called to prepare our body and systems for the shift of the natural environment around us.

Listen to Your Inner Caregiver

Paying attention to the natural shifts around us and practicing balancing and harmonizing tools allows us to stay connected with our bodies and minds. Often in transitioning times, old habits sneak in and become stronger, but we often don't notice it. There is an inner caregiver in all of us, but in our fast-paced, noisy, overstimulated, busy modern world, we miss listening to and ignore this inner caregiver voice.

The Power of a Cleanse

An Ayurvedic cleanse is a wonderful invitation to quiet down and listen to this inner caregiver voice and reset your body and mind. Just recently, I completed a 10-day Panchakarma at home, marking the second year in a row I've chosen this path. But please know, a cleanse doesn't need to span ten days; there are various options to explore on a shorter term.

Rediscover Balance and Clarity

The truth is having knowledge of all those things about healthy lifestyles, foods, behaviors, and so forth is not enough to turn it into new habits. You need to believe that your effort can make a difference in your life and turn choices into actions. Post-cleanse, I feel calm, clearer, and revitalized. I reconnected with my Self and inner strength. I sleep much better. I feel less stressed. I am able to focus longer during the day. My taste buds are fully cleaned out, so that any small amount of salt or sugar now will taste and feel like ten thousand times stronger. I experienced deep transformative changes on a spiritual level.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." – Carl Rogers

Why Consider a Fall Cleanse in Ayurveda?

There are different reasons. I summarized a few for you.

  • Aligning with Nature: Ayurveda encourages us to harmonize with the seasons. Fall introduces qualities of dryness and roughness, which can disrupt our inner balance. A fall cleanse realigns us with nature's rhythms.

  • Post-Summer Toxins: After a summer of indulgence and heat exposure, toxins may accumulate within us. The heat and acidity from summer can affect our bodies and emotions, leading to imbalances. A fall cleanse helps eliminate these toxins, preparing us for the cooler months.

  • Boosting Immunity: Fall often sees a dip in our immunity. Ayurvedic cleanses bolster our immune systems, fortifying us against common colds and ailments.

  • Balancing Vata: In Ayurveda, fall corresponds with the characteristics of dryness, coldness, and mobility, and is called the Vata dosha. A fall cleanse pacifies excess Vata (too much coldness, dryness, mobility in us), restoring equilibrium and calm.

Goals for a Gentle Ayurvedic Fall Cleanse

If you think about possibly goals for a cleanse, here is a list to inspire you:

  • Reducing stress and building inner strength and resilience

  • Enhance mental clarity and concentration/focusing

  • Increase energy levels and vitality/enthusiasm for life

  • Improve digestion to feel more energized and vital

  • Boosting immunity

  • Enhance sleep

Know you can come up with your own created goal.

The Skills and Benefits After an Ayurvedic Cleanse

You will leave with the following abilities and benefits after a cleanse:

  • Improved Self-awareness.

  • Better digestion of food and thoughts and emotions and absorption of nutrients which can lead to increased energy and vitality.

  • Experienced tools to reduce and master stress and feel calmer and grounded.

  • Enhanced awareness of how emotional and mental states can impact physical health.

  • Developed healthy routines aligned with basic principles for overall well-being.

  • Lifestyle adjustments. Learning to make long-term lifestyle changes that promote balance and prevent imbalance in the future.

Choose Yourself

The most important choice you can make for yourself and everyone you love is to choose to put yourself first!

NO, it is NOT selfish!

Your intention to practice being kind to your body and mind must come before your job, family, close friends, spouse, partner, and children! If self-care, body kindness, and self-acceptance aren't highest on your to-do-list, you will waste and deplete your energy and spiral downward resulting in difficulty focusing, concentrating, sleeping, staying positive, moving forward, making healthy choices, building inner strength, being happy, vital, and enthusiastic about life. Everything else in your life will suffer if you don't put yourself and health/well-being first. An Ayurvedic cleanse is a wonderful door opener to remember exactly that - putting yourself first and reconnecting with your Self.

To close here a bonus practice for you

As you contemplate this invitation, I leave you with a simple yet powerful body kindness practice: ask yourself regularly, "Is this choice helping to create a better, healthier life for myself?"

Embrace the change, choose yourself, and step into a season of renewal and self-discovery.
